Omaura, TF5, TF8, TF11, TFHDD, TT HTPC Case
Omaura, was set up by Lenny Silverman (Chief Industrial Designer) and Tobias Montagna-Hay (Foreign Chief Designer) in 2006. The pair was responsible for the design of the T-series range of HTPC Home Theatre PC chassis enclosures known as the Omaura TF5, TF8, TF11, TFHDD and the TT.
How was Omaura Set Up?
After the design of the T-series range of HTPC chassis enclosures, it was outsourced to an EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) company in China for it's production. Omaura was then set up to cater for the worldwide sales of these products excluding China, whereby another company was set up to cater for the Chinese market under a local brand.
What Happened To Omaura?
Omaura tried to deploy the products worldwide to some success, but ran into management difficulties between the two designers, which also resulted in a poor supply chain management of the products from manufacturing source, to the distribuition outlets and consequently through to the consumer.
Where Is Omaura Now?
Unfortunately, Omaura seized trading in 2008. The T-series range of products TF5, TF8, TF11, TFHDD and the TT has now been awarded to Karma for the European markets, with the local brand Osding continuing in the Chinese market and a second brand Aumro for the other markets. This is to provide a centralized resource and efficient supply chain management of the products into the global market providing localized service and support.
What next for the Omaura, TF5, TF8, TF11, TFHDD, TT Cases
Karma, Osding and Aumro have taken over the production of the Omaura TF5, TF8, TF11, TFHDD, TT products dealing directy with the EMS factory to manufacture the products with improved quality control and provide an efficient supply chain management to market. The Karma TF5, TF8, TF11, TFHDD and TT are available through ourselves to all European territories.
